Galle FortThe City of Galle and its Fortifications is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The Fort belongs to the European traditions and was constructed during the Portuguese and Dutch periods. The town inside and the architectural remains are considered to be excellent creations. The Portuguese, Dutch and British periods in Sri Lanka are depicted within the Galle Fort. UNESCO has nominated this place as a World Heritage in the year 1988.
